Nuestra Música: “Asserín Asserán” International Children's Day (Audio)
Today in Nuestra Música we are Celebrating World Children’s Day
World Children’s Day was first established in 1954 as Universal Children's Day and is celebrated on 20 November each year to promote international togetherness, awareness among children worldwide, and improving children's welfare.
The Convention, which is the most widely ratified international human rights treaty, sets out several children’s rights including the right to life, to health, to education and to play, as well as the right to family life, to be protected from violence, to not be discriminated against, and to have their views heard.
Today’s show relies heavily on the music of one of the greatest Children’s poets, Maria Elena Walsh, from Argentina. The songs are performed by Cuarteto Zupay, Maria Elena Walsh, Jacarandá, Pablo Donaldo, La Medialuna, Roberto Camargo, Liuba Maria Hevia, Federico García Lorca, Los Cuatro Músicos, and El Reino Infantil.
