Dan and Caren Mahar, the founders of Camp Sundown, discuss their year-round “night camp” in Craryville, NY dedicated to children affected by life-threatening sun-sensitivity disorders, most notably XP, xeroderma pigmentosum, a rare genetic disease. In addition to a full schedule of camp activities, the XP Society offers information, support, advocacy, and protection to the XP family, patient and caregiver while promoting research for a cure.
