Apr 18, 2011
Recorded and Edited by Tanya Blue.
WGXC volunteer reporter Tanya B attended the opening day for the new "Vanderbilt House Hotel" in Philmont on Monday, April 18, where she interviewed owner Bob Mansfield about his plans, what it takes to open a new business in our region, and what some are calling the Philmont Renaissance, something he said he's glad to be a part of. In this clip, Part II, Mansfield speaks about the local farm he is using for organic produce, the Farm at Miller's Crossing, owned by the Cashen family, which does regular deliveries, as well as his chef, George Madrid, who previously worked at Picholine, Rocco’s, and Daniel Boulud in New York City. The hotel, which will soon offer rooms, is located at 161 Main St. in Philmont.
