Today we are presenting Latinx Blues. With Afro Cuban and Afro Mexican rhythms becoming apparent in the 19 century music scene in North America, and forever in debt to the Mississippi Delta Blues, the Latinx Blues takes the best from the American rhythms, and incorporates some native instruments like Quena, Cajon, Mayan Drum, African Marimba, and Erque. Today we are presenting Blues in Spanish, Portuguese, and Quechua.

“Nuestra Música,” “Our Music,” presents the rhythms and folklore of Latin America, Spain, Portugal and Cape Verde. From Tango to Flamenco and all Latinx music in between. The show explores the native instruments, languages and traditions played in 22 countries and one territory. Other than Spanish and Portuguese, Nuestra Música presents songs in Quechua, Mapuche, Guaraní, Nahuatl, Gallego, Spanish Basque, and Catalán. Among many styles we present: Tango, Chacarera, Baguala, Zamba with a Z and Samba with and S, Bossa Nova, Cumbia, Llanero, Vallenato, Merengue, Parrandera, Son, Bolero, Ranchera, Corrido, Marimba, Fado, Flamenco, Sevillanas, Jota, Blues, Jazz, Danzon, Mambo and many more.
