Wave Farm's WGXC is pleased to present a live stream and broadcast of Phil Kline's Unsilent Night taking place at Art Omi (Ghent, NY). Unsilent Night is a participatory electronic soundscape celebrated worldwide every December since 1992. This landmark work of avant-garde public art takes place in more than 130 cities across the United States, Canada, Europe and New Zealand, activating city streets, parks, and landscapes with “a shimmering sound-wall of bells and chimes that is dreamlike to wander through in the December nip” (The Village Voice).

An original composition by Phil Kline, Unsilent Night was written specifically to be heard outdoors in the month of December, always as a free event. It takes the form of a promenade in which the audience becomes the performer, walking a carefully chosen route together. In 2021, led by composer Phil Kline in-person, participants will gather at Art Omi's Benenson Center, and then proceed on a route through the park. For information about attending in-person, please visit artomi.org/calendar/unsilent-night-2021. Those not attending in person may tune in to the radio broadcast on WGXC 90.7-FM in New York's Upper Hudson Valley or listen online at wavefarm.org/listen from anywhere around the globe.
