ux caisses, au vestiaire, sur le terrain… Hervé Birolini a mis des micros dans tout le stade pour nous offrir un péplum radiophonique. Entendre le rugby comme si on y était. Silence crispé, bruissement, puis rumeur, et avec le fracas des corps, les clameurs, un vacarme, le tourbillon sonore d’un public avec ses joueurs. Toute une musique humaine.

Situé à Grenoble, le stade Lesdiguières, un des stades les plus anciens du Championnat de France et d'une capacité de 12 650 places, est le stade d’entraînement du FC Grenoble Rugby.

The Human Music of the Stadium

A rugby match is something you watch but it is also something you listen to.

The silence of an empty stadium before the fury… The murmur that swells until it completely takes over.

The players’ entrance in a deafening roar, a sonic whirlwind lifting their team.

And then, the game.

Bodies in motion, that unrestrained power… A clash of bodies in a din of colliding flesh, of cries bursting forth, the cheers of a crowd holding its breath only to shout louder. A mere rustle, a shiver sweeps through the spectators as though they were a single body, for the span of an emotion. It vibrates. It lives.

Haunting or driving rhythms, choruses, silences. Rugby is a masterfully orchestrated piece of music if one knows how to hear it.
