Chatham approves three-million budget
Nov 26, 2018 12:23 am
Emilia Teasdale reports in The Columbia Paper the Chatham Town Board November 15, approved a three-million dollar town budget for 2019 with “less than a one percent tax increase.” Chatham Town Supervisor Maria Lull read from a prepared statement at the meeting: “I am very proud to report that we have been able to make these major investments in our community and government with less than a one percent tax increase and in full compliance with the state-mandated tax cap, reducing the use of fund balances and pulling the town safely out of the category of financial fiscal stress,” she said. The board also appointed Michael Richardson to the open seat on the board. Richardson serves out the term of Landra Haber, who resigned from the board in October. Richardson will serve on the board until November 2019, when the seat is up for election again. Read the full story in The Columbia Paper.
