"The Moon meets Jupiter in the west on the 14th. This is the final month for easy viewing of the Giant Planet, which has now faded to magnitude -2.0 but is still the brightest "star" in the heavens. The Moon comes extremely close to the blue star Spica on the 24th and then passes to the lower right of Saturn on the 25th. Both rise at around nightfall. Saturn, with its rings now beautifully "open" (meaning not tilted edgewise to us), has its opposition of the past 6 years. Visible through any telescope, Saturn lights up the otherwise dim constellation of Libra."

"Radia" is a group of international radio stations, including WGXC/free103point9, interested in new and forgotten ways of making radio. Each week, one station makes a show that the rest air. This week: The Montréal Tape Run was a project spearheaded by crustacés tapes in collaboration with Berlin’s Staaltape, whose Berlin Tape Run series inspired the Montréal version. A cassette tape circulated from hand to hand across the island of Montréal in September 2013. 10 individuals were involved. Each runner received the tape, recorded a few minutes of sound on it, and transferred it to the next runner.

On Saturday, April 14 2012, Hunter Hunt-Hendrix kicked off his Residency at Issue Project Room in a duo performance as Liturgy with Bernhard Gann, The set features eruptions of distorted guitar and what Hunt-Hendrix calls a “burst beat,” an industrial-like discharge of noise that accelerates, decelerates and explodes in and out of sync with the back beat. Hunt-Hendrix’s vocals alternate between incinerating yelps and minimalist Gregorian-like melodies, an effect that evokes something simultaneously apocalyptic and ethereal, something uncontainable yet grounded.
