Candidates face off in Chatham village races

Katie Kocijanski reports in the Chatham Courier the village of Chatham will have two choices for mayor in this year's village elections. Incumbent Tom Curran of the Chatham United Party is running for his second term, and will be challenged by Village of Chatham Sustainability Party candidate Maria De Marco. Curran was elected mayor in 2011 after defeating long-time incumbent Mayor Paul Boehme. Four candidates are competing for two open Village Board seats. Wayne Coe and Michael Wollowitz, are running on the Chatham United Party line, and Jay Rippel Jr. and David Silliman, are running on the Village of Chatham Sustainability Party line. The seats carry two-year terms. Daniel Brackett is seeking the town justice seat. The polls will be open noon to 9 p.m., Tues., Mar. 19 at village hall. Read both stories in the Chatham Courier.
