Columbia Co. closes building due to COVID-19

Nov 12, 2020 2:30 pm
Columbia County officials Thu., Nov. 12, closed its office building at 401 State Street in Hudson, "in an abundance of caution," according to a short announcement posted at the county website. The closure was triggered by the news that two county employees had been quarantined after the possibility of direct exposure to people who had tested positive to COVID-19. Because of the Veterans Day Holiday, county officials were unable to sanitize the building before it was due to open Thursday morning. For that reason, 401 State was closed to the public and staff was assigned to work from home all day Thursday until building departments and common areas can be sanitized. The building is expected to reopen during the regular hours of operation on Friday. As of late November 11, Columbia County had reported 14 new cases, for a total of 109 active cases; 27 people are currently hospitalized, 2 in ICU. There have been 43 deaths due to COVID-19 in Columbia County to date. Read more at columbiacountyny [dot] com.
