Tampon contents would be displayed per bill in Albany

David Lombardo reports in the Albany Times Union that legislation passed the state Senate last week and is now in committee in the Assembly that requires each package of tampons sold in New York to display the materials used and their quantity. "We put tampons and pads in and our bodies for years on end, but we have no idea what manufacturers put in these product," said Assemblymember Linda B. Rosenthal, a Manhattan Democrat sponsoring the bill. The legislators behind the bill want assurances tampons do not contain toxic and allergenic chemicals.
