For BSTF #722, I did a strained parody of mainstream rock radio. With my limited vocal range, I just bellowed my way through it, adding echo effects here and there and peppering a few sparse goofy SFX around. I played it, then I forgot it--until six years later, when I figured "Yeah, this show looks like an easy rerun..." But when I listened to my attempts at playing a regular deejay, I cringed. This show needed major work. So for two fucking nights, I've labored intensively adding boings, boinks, doinks, dings, splats, zips, and twinkytwinkytwinky feet SFX by the handfuls to my bits. GodDAMN, but this thing is fucking STUCCOED with sounds now. It finally flies.
Between my turns playing the role of Rockteaser, you'll hear twisted covers of classic mainstream rock songs by Stretch Armstrong, the Swinging Erudites, 101 Strings, Eric Burdon, Jebediah, Erik Lindgren, Toad the Wet Sprocket, Dora Hall, the Roto-Rooter GoodTime Christmas Band, the Rockafire Explosion, Danger Woman, the Pride of the Buckeyes Marching Band, the Princeton Nassoons, and Nicotine. And did I mention that there will be SOUND EFFECTS? Out the ass, man--out the freakin' ass.
