Ulster conversion therapy ban signed

Patricia R. Doxsey reports in the Daily Freeman that Ulster County banned so-called conversion therapy, or reparative therapy or other practices seeking to change the sexual orientation or gender identity of anyone under the age of 18. Ulster County Executive Michael Hein signed the legislation on July 20. A similar law banning conversion therapy on minors statewide passed the state Assembly earlier this year but stalled in the state Senate.
