President Donald Trump unveiled a new tax cut proposal Sept. 27, and Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand was quick to criticize the plan. “The Trump tax proposal released today is a cruel joke to working people across New York. While it lacks a lot of detail, it is clear that the plan is designed to primarily benefit large, profitable corporations and the wealthiest among us while doing little to nothing for regular working people. In fact, it is very possible that lower-income workers and middle-class families could see their taxes increase to subsidize the enormous tax cuts for the wealthy," Gillibrand said in a statement. Sen. Chuck Schumer went on a live Facebook feed to say PLAY BRIEF CLIP. Local Rep. John Faso (R-Kinderhook) has yet to release a statement as of Sept. 27.
