Lissa Harris reports in the Watershed Post an oil spill was discovered Sun., Apr. 29, on the Pepacton Reservoir. Questioned by Harris, Wed., May 2, the New York City Department of Environmental Protection said the spill is no more than 100 square feet in surface area and the agency is working with its emergency response contractor to conduct more extensive underwater investigations. As part of normal operations, no water has been diverted from the Reservoir since April 19. The spill was likely a small amount, Harris writes.
