Sarah Trafton reports for Columbia-Greene Media that the substantial completion date for the new Greene County Jail is late January, “[Substantial completion] means the building is entirely enclosed and all the major systems are in place,” Legislature Chairperson Patrick Linger, a Republican from New Baltimore, said. “We plan to occupy [the new jail] on July 1. If it’s sooner, great. If not, that’s what the plan is right now.” Greene County legislators last week approved several changes to the projects including a payment increase of $150,000 to John W. Danforth Company, of Clifton Park, and Nfrastructure Technologies, of Clifton Park, for a smoke-control system; $10,827 to James H. Maloy Inc., of Loudonville, for work on a motorized gate and posts at the designated pedestrian control points; $47,499 to James H. Maloy for drainage work, $35,000 to James H. Maloy for road work; and $433 to Nfrastructure Technologies for electrical work. There was also one reduction of $20,967 to John W.
