Ulster GOP may have candidates for special county exec race after all

Patricia Doxsey is reporting for the Daily Freeman Ulster County Republican Chairman Roger Rascoe said two individuals have now emerged as potential candidates in the upcoming special election for county executive. "I’ve got one that’s lukewarm and one that’s ready to go,” Rascoe said. He did not identify the potential candidates, but said that Republicans will vote to nominate a candidate at a party convention at 10 a.m., Mar. 9, at the Shawangunk Valley Firehouse in Wallkill. Rascoe said whoever is chosen to run in the special election will also have the GOP endorsement in the November election. The special election is April 30. The winner of that contest will serve until the end of 2019. The winner of the November election will serve a four-year term, beginning Jan. 1, 2020. Read the full story in the Daily Freeman.
