Former Catskill Game Farm on the market for $2M

Sarah Trafton is reporting for Columbia-Greene Media the former Catskill Game Farm is on the market for the second time in less than 10 years. The 150-acre site was home to more than 2,000 animals from 1933 until it closed permanently in 2006, after 73 years of operation. Ben and Cathy Ballone purchased the property in 2012. They offered self-guided tours and camping and recently remade the former giraffe house into an inn. The property was listed last week with a price tag of just under $2 million. Cathy Ballone said the decision to sell was due to a "life-changing event" that propelled the couple in a different direction. Ballone said the business will remain fully operational until the property sells. “Well, that is, once COVID-19 subsides to the point where we can operate normally again,” she said.
