Coeymans residents asked to complete internet survey

May 14, 2020 2:15 pm
Melanie Lekocevic is reporting for Capital Region Independent Media residents of Coeymans without access to broadband internet service are being urged to complete a survey to help address the problem, town board member Brandon LeFevre said. Since LeFevre's initial appeal for feedback in April, 15 residents have participated. “I know there is a lot more than 15 of you out there that do not have access to internet, so please fill out that survey if you can, or if you know anybody that does not have internet, forward them that link,” LeFevre said at the April 23 town board meeting. Albany County Executive Daniel McCoy last month announced high-speed internet was being made available in the hill towns of Berne, Westerlo and Knox. LeFevre wants to do the same in Coeymans. McCoy is working in partnership with Hudson Valley Wireless on the hill towns project. LeFevre said he intends to reach out to Hudson Valley Wireless to see if bringing its service to Coeymans would be feasible. In the meantime, residents are being asked to complete the survey.
