Women's March returns to Albany Jan. 20

Jan 03, 2018 2:23 pm
A year after the first Women's March, a second series of protests are planned for Jan. 20, including one in Albany. Organizers for the state capitol march have reserved the West Capitol Park from 1-3 p.m. Jan. 20, with other marches in New York City, Washington D.C., and many other cities. "The time for change is now and we can't be silent when it comes to the corruption of the current GOP Administration," the organizer's event page reads. Speakers include Albany Mayor Kathy Sheehan; Rensselaer County resident Judith Enck, who is a former EPA Regional Administrator; Deirdre Patterson, the organizer behing the NY19 Votes and IndivisibleNY19 groups; and Dr. Jennifer Lemak, the Chief Curator of History at the New York State Museum. Last year, hundreds of thousands marched on Washington D.C., with many more in Albany, Hudson, and Poughkeepsie. Contact womensmarch2.0@gmail.com for more information.
