Helicopter crashes in Livingston orchard
May 14, 2020 2:00 pm
Massarah Mikati is reporting for the Times Union a helicopter crashed into an orchard in Livingston early on May 14. State police received a call at 3:30 a.m. reporting the chopper went down in a field between Klybar and Cold Spring roads. Police said a contractor company working for an orchard was in the process of moving air to prevent crops from frosting and the rotor blades clipped a few branches, causing a mechanical failure. "It was at a low altitude, so it didn't end up being a crazy crash and no one got hurt," said Trooper AJ Hicks. The Federal Aviation Administration are investigating the crash alongside state police.
