Downed wire cause of Central Hudson outage

Jim Planck is reporting in The Daily Mail Central Hudson Gas & Electric said Tues., Aug. 19, the power outages that occurred throughout Greene and southern Albany counties Monday were the result of a downed phase wire on Paul Saxe Road in Catskill. The outage interrupted service for more than 13,000 customers for nearly four hours. A Central Hudson spokeswoman said the specific cause of the problem remains under investigation. In Greene Co., power was lost in Cairo, Durham, East Durham, Greenville, Tannersville, Haines Falls, New Baltimore, Lawrenceville, Round Top and briefly in Coxsackie.
