Ladies and Gentlemen. Please join the Magic Stranger for an evening of music by the legendary British recording artist Michael Chapman. Chapman will be performing at Basilica Soundscape in Hudson Friday, 7:30 pm September 12. Chapman has been releasing folk, blues, and rock tunes since, yes, 1969. He came on the scene in 1967 and has since released at least 29 studio albums, all of which worth a listen. in 2011 and 2012 he released 2 excellent experimental ambient acid folk psych records not unlike John Fahey's later efforts. Magic will be spinning records from the Harvest years and later 21st century recordings. Those of you who have managed to slip by Chapman's existence will be thrilled to hear his unique voice. Fans of Bert Jansch, Michael Hurley, Roy Harper, John Fahey and the many others who were part of the late 60s early 70s British blues folk rock scene will dig it.
