Eric Anderson in the Albany Times-Union reports that Windham Mountain will open this weekend, but probably not for skiing. While they are trying to put artificial snow on the higher trails, they are opening other trails to mountain biking. “The forecast is pretty bleak through mid-January,” Tolz said of the continued warmth in the area. “We are going to be mixing up the scene.” The rental shop will be handling skis and snowboards and mountain bikes, and, if there is cold, the lifts will take both sorts of downhill racers.
