Albany Dems endorse Tkaczyk; Lopez unopposed

[caption width="100" align="alignright"] Cecilia Tkaczyk.[/caption][caption width="100" align="alignright"] Pete Lopez.[/caption]Jordan Carleo-Evangelist in Capitol Confidential reports that Albany County Democrats Sat., Feb. 22 backed Cecilia Tkaczyk (SD46) for re-election, and failed to nominate an oppenent for the 102nd Assembly District, which covers Westerlo, Rensselaerville, and Coeymans (as well as parts of Greene and Schoharie counties). That seat is currently held by Schoharie Republican Pete Lopez. Tkaczyk represents much of Greene, Albany, and Schoharie counties. Albany Democrats also endorsed Congressman Paul Tonko (NY-20), and state Sen. Neil Breslin (SD44) and Assembly members Patricia Fahy (AD109), John T. McDonald III (AD108), Phil Steck (AD110), and Angelo Santabarbara (AD111). The full Democratic Committee meets at 7 p.m. Wed., Feb. 26 at the Polish Community Center in Albany to vote on the party’s endorsements. Read the full story in Capitol Confidential.
