Albany International receives $4.15M DOT grant

WRGB-Albany is reporting Albany International Airport has received a New York State Department of Transportation grant totaling $4.15 million. The money was made available through the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security, or CARES, Act. It will finance a project to replace passenger boarding bridges to maintain the efficient movement of passengers at the airport. "As we continue ramping up our Capital Region economy after months of waiting, delivering these investments that make our transportation systems safer, more accessible and more efficient is more crucial than ever," U.S. Rep. Paul Tonko said. The CARES Act includes $10 billion in funds to be awarded as economic relief to eligible U.S. airports affected by the prevention of, preparation for, and response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
