The Ichabod Crane school district is reporting on its website the details of a bus incident that occurred after dismissal, Thu., Dec. 6. A bus carrying students home after a half-day of classes, did not negotiate a turn correctly and slowly came to a stop on the soft shoulder of the road, where the vehicle got stuck. None of the 21 students on board, nor the driver, were injured in the incident. The students, enrolled in grades K-8, remained on board the immobile bus until district Transportation Supervisor Dan Doyle arrived with a second bus. The Columbia County Sheriff's Deputies on site concluded it was a non-reportable incident because there were no injuries or property damage.
