Audrey Matott reports in The Greenville Pioneer that Travis Richards is starting his time on the Greenville Town Board early. Richards was elected Nov. 7 to start serving in January, but on Nov. 20 was tapped by the board to fill Ken Stern's vacant seat. Stern announced in September that he was stepping aside, though he did not say exactly why he was leaving the town board. Greenville did not receive his resignation letter until Nov. 13. The letter said he was resigning as of Oct. 1. Richards is a fourth-generation Greenville resident. "My great-grandparents, Peter and Gurine Nicholsen, purchased Sunny Hill Farm in 1920, which is still family operated as Sunny Hill Resort and Golf Course, Richards told the paper.
