Produced by a different "Radia" station each week.
"Radio Papesse" from Siena, Italy is this week's contributing station to "Radia." Each week, a different station in the "Radia" network contribute a radio art work designed to cross borders. free103point9 and WGXC are part of the "Radia" network. This week: Produced by Italian composer and sound artist Giulio Aldinucci. Show includes field recordings taken in Bagno Vignoni (Siena – Italy) in September 2012. This little Tuscan town is one of the most peculiar Tarkovsky’s Nostalghia location and it’s characterized by a rectangular tank in place of the main square, which contains water that comes from the underground hot springs. These sounds and other field recordings granulized are mixed with fragments of the Symphony No. 9 in D minor, Op. 125 by Ludwig van Beethoven. The symphony is the preeminent composition of the Nostalghia’s soundtrack.
