Blending words and sounds, bringing to the airwaves live performances as well as field and studio recordings by writers the host has crossed paths with over the course of a quarter century. David Rothenberg is a professor of philosophy and music at the New Jersey Institute of Technology, who has special interests in animal sounds as music. He is author of numerous books, including Why Birds Sing, Bug Music, and Thousand Mile Song. Rothenberg has recorded at least 9 albums in his own name, and has performed or recorded music with Marilyn Crispell, Peter Gabriel, Pauline Oliveros, and others.
