Hudson-based mediation group
Common Ground got a shout-out in a story run by
Mid Hudson News Network today noting how the group has mediated over 200 cases in 2010, ranging from spousal issues to housing and lemon law controversies. Executive Director Dawn Wallant added that the holidays were busier than the rest of the year, "Because we notice that a lot of families have difficult trying to establish changes in parenting time or holiday parenting time... I don’t know if the economy necessarily has anything to do with it.” Wallant added that the organization has seen a steady and increased number of parents participating in
Common Ground’s parent education and awareness program. The entity was founded in the early 1980s as a program of Columbia Opportunities and went independent in 1987.
