Emmanuel Mieville is Paris born composer who focused on sound engineering while studying cinema. Mieville learned musique concrète at the GRM. The artist characterizes his approach to experimental music and composition as fueled by a constant listening to creative radio programs since his childhood. Mieville has realized numerous radio shows for French National Broadcasting (France-culture and France-Musiques). He is a regular guest composer for Framework’s field recordings based shows, on Resonance fm and WGXC 90.7-FM among other international radio stations who broadcast the Framwork series. Mieville's concern for aural perception, exposing memories engraved in urban and natural environments vis-a-vis field recordings, is made manifest in compositions where soundfield materials are layered, mixed and sometimes transformed by effects. By interpreting and composing the soundfield's substance, Mieville creates a portrait of a specific location, whereby its blurred and erratic sonic emotions reach the ears of the listener. Mieville has performed concerts in Malaysia, HongKong, Taiwan, France, and Germany. He is affiliated with the innovative laptop group, CLSI, and has released music on labels including Tibprod (with Töre H.Boe), XingWu, Lona records, and Baskaru.
