Greenville residents honor Haverly

Daniel Zuckerman is reporting in The Daily Mail Greenville resident, and the editor and publisher of the Greenville Pioneer, Andrea Macko, has given out blue light bulbs to to honor the late Greene County Sheriff’s Deputy Kevin Haverly. The light bulbs are for people to display and light up this week in their homes and businesses in honor of Haverly, who died in a car accident while on duty last week. Greenville Town Supervisor Paul Macko was unaware of the gesture, but called it a great idea and said he wanted to get a blue bulb for his own home. “I think it’s a wonderful idea and a wonderful gesture,” Macko said. Macko knew Haverly well and said he was a good father to his children. Memorial services for Haverly were held Mon., Mar. 6, at St. John the Baptist Church, and all flags in Greenville were displayed at half-staff in Haverly's honor.
