Hosted by Rob Saffer.

In this special Radio Magic Pledge Drive installment of Overlooked, host Rob Saffer and guest host DJ Doob (aka Bill Dubilier) will focus narrowly on the Canterbury sound, improvisational progressive rock initially centered around the city of Canterbury in England in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Many musicians during this period, including Robert Wyatt, Daevid Allen, Hugh Hopper, Kevin Ayers, Mike Ratledge, and Steve Hillage, among others, worked together in a variety of bands, an overlap that created a distinct style from sound. We’ll listen to Soft Machine, Gong. Hatfield & The North, Egg, Caravan, Matching Mole and many more.
