Movie theatres open in Hudson Valley Mall
Apr 18, 2019 11:02 pm
William J. Kemble reports for the Daily Freeman that the NCG Cinema multiplex at Hudson Valley Mall opens April 19. The theatres replace Regal Cinemas, which closed last summer. The 12-screens seat between 100 to 300 viewers. Opening weekend movies are all big-budget mainstream films such as "Dumbo," "Us," "How to Train Your Dragon," and "Hellboy." The Hudson Valley Mall keeps losing tenants, so the theatre will be welcome by the remaining stores. “It’s going to add foot traffic to the mall, which is what the retailers need to survive,” Ulster Supervisor James Quigley said April 17. “We can see that the mall is in transition and the traffic is in transition. So with the addition of the movie theater, hopefully we can bring younger people, more active people, people with more disposable income to the mall.” Read the full story in the Daily Freeman.
