Kate Lisa is reporting for Capital Region Independent Media after almost two years of discussion, fundraising and planning, the Ravena Dog Park, located on Whitbeck Street, is near completion. It all started when Ravena Mayor William Misuraca posted on Facebook in 2017, asking residents what improvements they would like to see in the village. “People were like, ‘Hey let’s have a dog park — let’s start a committee up,’” Misuraca recalled. “We have a core of probably four people who stuck with it and met constantly to get this done.” The dog park will be open to anyone who registers and obtains a permit with the village of Ravena, but the cost of the permit has not yet been determined. The park was originally scheduled to open June 1, but the wet spring season caused delays.
