Ulster Co. gets new director of economic development

Patricia Doxsey is reporting for the Daily Freeman Ulster County Executive Pat Ryan has appointed Lisa Berger as the county's new director of economic development. Berger succeeds Suzanne Holt, who is leaving the position to take a job in the private sector. Berger has served as the director of the county Office of Employment and Training for the past five years. Ryan called Berger "a perfect fit" for the position. "Lisa Berger will be a tremendous director of economic development and a true asset to Ulster County," Ryan said in the statement. "[She] possesses the skills, dedication and knowledge needed to better position our county for economic success today, and the vision to drive our success in the future." Berger said it was an honor to be chosen as economic development director. In Ulster, the county executive has the sole authority to appoint the director of economic development.
