He will serve a three-year term, through Dec. 31, 2021. Hart will remain in his position as the director of economic development, planning and tourism, Greene County Administrator Shaun Groden said. We still have a lot of hard work to do,” Hart said. “I’m excited — new opportunities are always great.” The duties of the new deputy administration will focus on economic development and attracting business to the county. He will also provide support for special projects and legislative initiatives such as shared services and capital projects. “We’re going to increase resident and business engagement through website, e-news and social media,” Hart said. He is currently paid $89,000 a year and is likely to receive a salary bump as deputy supervisor, but the exact amount of the bump has yet to be been determined, Groden said. As for choosing Hart, Groden said it was crucial to pick someone already working in county government with experience to do the job. “Because he’s [been] here so long, there’s no training, I just flip him the keys and away you go,” Groden said.
