CDC says flu is widespread in NY

MidHudsonNews [dot] com is reporting the flu season continues in full force as 934 cases were reported in the Mid-Hudson region during the week ending February 23, the most recent reported to the Centers for Disease Control. The CDC classified the flu as widespread in New York, with each of the state's 62 counties reporting cases. Westchester County recorded the greatest number at 471. Sullivan County reported the fewest, with 30 cases. Statewide, there were more than 9,500 cases reported, a two percent increase over the previous week. Health department officials said if you have symptoms, see your doctor, get plenty of rest and drink lots of fluids. If you have not had a flu shot, ask your doctor if you should have one.
