WNYT-TV launches new signal atop Mount Greylock
The Berkshire Eagle is reporting WNYT, the NBC affiliate in Albany, has launched a new signal at the top of Mount Greylock to improve reception for viewers with home antennas in Berkshire County, Mass. and southern Vermont. “In our television market, Berkshire and Bennington counties account for about twelve percent of the homes with a television," Stephen P. Baboulis, vice president and general manager for WNYT, said in a news release. "That’s a lot of homes, and we take our commitment to the viewers there very seriously." WNYT began broadcasting from Mount Greylock in 1983 and converted to digital TV in 2009. Mount Greylock measures nearly 3,500 feet high and is located in the northwest corner of Massachusetts. It is the highest point in the state. Its summit is located in the western part of the town of Adams in Berkshire County. Read the full story in The Berkshire Eagle.
