Schumer, Gillibrand vote against tax plan that passes the Senate
Dec 02, 2017 1:31 am
New York Senators Chuck Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand voted against a Republican tax plan in the early morning hours of Dec. 2, which passed 51-49 despite their votes. The plan, sold as a tax cut, actually raises taxes in the long term on most Americans. Rich citizens and companies benefit the most under the plan, which next goes to a conference committee to work out differences with the version of the bill that passed the House of Representatives in November.
