Rafael Bernal reports in The Hill that while Republicans who hold a majority in Congress and the presidency struggle to pass a bill to keep the government open, a bipartisan group of House members including Rep. John Faso (R-Kinderhook) said on Jan. 16 they will introduce a bill to keep the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, or DACA, program alive. "I joined over 40 of my colleagues in introducing the bipartisan USA Act. This proposal is a permanent legislative fix for Dreamers, while also strengthening our border security with 21st century technology," Faso said in a tweet. About 690,000 children born in this country to undocumented immigrants could be deported if Congress does not pass legislation before March.
