Cuomo expands vaccine eligibility

Mar 30, 2021 6:33 am
On a day when another woman came forward with sexual harassment charges against Gov. Andrew Cuomo, he expanded eligibility for the COVID-19 vaccine again. The Democrat and Chronicle reports that anyone 30-years-old and over can get an inoculation for COVID-19 beginning March 30, and anyone 16 and older is eligible on April 6. The announcement came March 29, and not one moment too soon, as new coronavirus cases jumped 64 percent in New York in the week ending March 28. New York currently leads the nation in a dubious category: spreading the virus fastest on a per-person basis, according to a USA Today Network analysis of Johns Hopkins University data. New York ranks 21st of 50 states in share of people receiving at least one shot of a COVID-19 vaccine, with nearly 30 percent of its residents at least partially vaccinated. To get a vaccine in New York, call 1-833-NYS-4-VAX which is also 1-833-697-4829. Read more about this story in the Democrat and Chronicle.
