Mabb explains vaccine still weeks away for Columbia County

With reports that a vaccine for COVID-19 was entering New York State this weekend, Columbia County Director of Public Health Jack Mabb, on WGXC Dec. 10, explained if it is getting to Columbia County that soon. CLICK HERE TO PLAY EXCERPT OF MABB INTERVIEW. Mabb explained that local frontline healthcare workers will begin receiving the vaccine in a few weeks at the A. B. Shaw Fire building on Route 23 in Claverack. Nurses hired by Walgreens and CVS will also begin inoculating nursing home staff and residents at nursing home facilities around that time. It will be several months more, Mabb explained, before the general public begins receiving shots in the arm. Mabb said members of the public are already calling his office demanding their vaccines, but will have to wait.
