July filings show Gibson outraised Eldridge

Matthew Hamilton is reporting at Capitol Confidential on the latest campaign filings in the 19th Congressional District race between incumbent Republican Chris Gibson and Democrat challenger Sean Eldridge. In a race where money has become a central theme, both Gibson and Eldridge have reported healthy war chests, Hamilton writes. Gibson raised more money in the second quarter than Eldridge, and more than he has raised in any quarter since his initial run for office. The Gibson campaign continues to criticize Eldridge for using his own money to fund the campaign. The Eldridge campaign emphasized the candidate's funds were used to match public contributions, and that he did not accept money from any political action committees.
