Bill Williams is reporting for Columbia-Greene Media Hudson police are investigating the city's second shooting incident in a week. No one was injured. The shots were reportedly fired Sat., Dec. 10 around 1:40 a.m. on the 200 block of Warren Street, according to Police Chief L. Edward Moore said. A city police sergeant and officer were on foot on the 300 block of Union Street when they heard successive gunshots near the intersection of 3rd and Warren streets. The patrol secured the scene and the New York State Police and Columbia County Sheriff’s Office were asked to assist with the investigation. Police recovered multiple shell casings in the mid-200 block of Warren and two of the bullets struck a parked vehicle and two bullets struck the siding and window at The Maker at 3rd and Warren streets, east from where the shell casings were found, Moore said. Hudson detectives collected evidence and conducted a number of interviews with potential witnesses. Police said the Saturday incident may be related to a December 2 shooting, one block away at 2nd Street and Prison Alley. “Residents should know that I have been coordinating a response with State Police and the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office," Moore said. "We will bring all resources to bear to locate the individual(s) responsible for this recent brazen behavior." There have been no arrests in the first shooting. "Citizens of Hudson will notice more visible patrols and a mobile command post, located at 3rd and Columbia streets, that will serve as a temporary satellite station for our officers," Moore said.
