Matt Bathrick is reporting in the Columbia Paper the Ghent Town Board approved a new contract to change to a cheaper energy supplier last week. The town’s electric power will now come from Viridian Energy following the board's approval of a two-year agreement with the company. The decision adds Ghent to the growing list of municipalities in Columbia County switching to the Stamford, Conn. based energy supplier. The energy will be supplied by Viridian and delivered by the New York State Electric and Gas Corporation. Read the full story in the Columbia Paper.
