Ryan Anglim is reporting in The Daily Mail the Greene County Chamber of Commerce announced Tues., Jan. 7, it has merged with the Coxsackie Regional Chamber of Commerce, effective Jan. 1. The organization will be known as the Greene County Chamber of Commerce. As part of the agreement, the county chamber has added two board member seats, which will be filled by two members of the Coxsackie Chamber board. County chamber Executive Director Jeff Friedman said he has been reaching out to local chambers to find ways to work more cooperatively and further common goals. He said the Coxsackie Chamber approached him about joining forces. Friedman said the merger provides the opportunity to work more closely with Coxsackie and the ability to better blend that business community with the rest of the county, which will serve all chamber members positively.
