Ulster looks to improve broadband coverage

The Mid-Hudson News Network reports in The Daily Freeman that Ulster County is now establishing a policy, “to develop a comprehensive broadband strategy that covers the current and future needs of its residents, including those in rural areas, and major sectors within the county, agriculture, business, education, government, healthcare, public safety and utilities.” Carl Belfiglio (R-Esopus) said, “In Ellenville, the high school has state of the art broadband service through Ulster County BOCES, and all of the schools on that campus, yet Ellenville Hospital does not have it.” Ulster seeks development of one-year, two-year and five-year-plus proposals for broadband expansion.
