Sarah Trafton is reporting for HudsonValley360 demolition will begin next week at the site of the former Mountain T-Shirts at the corner of West Bridge and West Main streets in the village of Catskill, to make way for a new Stewart’s Shop. Cone E Island Ice Cream will remain at its currently location across the street, Village President Vincent Seeley said. The village planning board approved Stewart's site plan for the nearly 4,000-square-foot building and four gas pumps in May. Asbestos remediation has begun, Seeley said this week, with the demolition permit expected to be approved next week. “Much of the materials will be recycled,” he said. The demolition will take roughly one week, with an extra week added for clean up. Surveying and site layout should start during the first week of August. The new store is a step in the right direction for Catskill’s future, Seeley said. The project is expected to completed in September. Read the full story at HudsonValley360 [dot] com.
